LONG BRANCH, N.J.— Long Branch Concordance Family Success Center announces its Back to School Health Fair to be held on August 11, 2016 from 10 am – 1 pm. This event will offer free health screenings for families, provided by Monmouth County service providers and community partners, as well as the distribution of backpacks filled with grade appropriate school supplies.
"We are thrilled that our wonderful community partners have come together to sponsor this event with us," stated Lisa Wilson, Executive Director of the Long Branch Concordance. "Parents need a variety of support and resources as their children head back to school, ranging from health information and free screenings to pencils, notebooks, and backpacks. By partnering with these fabulous community health partners, we are able to offer them one-stop resources to help the transition to school go a little more smoothly."
Long Branch Concordance is gratefully accepting donations of new school supplies for distribution to Monmouth County families. Individuals, civic groups, and local organizations are asked to donate new school supplies for all grades. The Agency is also collecting cases of bottled water and packaged snacks. This event will be the 8th Annual Back to School Health Fair which is made possible by generous community support. In the past, the fair has been attended by more than 300 people.
Donations may be dropped off at the Long Branch Concordance at the rear entrance of St. James' Church, 300 Broadway in Long Branch. Please call the office prior to delivering donations at 732.571.1670.
